NATIONAL GREEN AMENDMENT DAY IS COMING SOON
Get Ready to Act & Celebrate
On July 13, people from across the nation will join with Green Amendments For The Generations to celebrate this powerful movement that is changing the paradigm for environmental protection on National Green Amendment Day!
This year we have two ways for you to engage in honor of National Green Amendment Day:
- In person in New York
- Online in the week leading up to Green Amendment Day including a fun opportunity to win a prize.
#1, in New York on July 12th
(the last working day for state government officials before National Green Amendment day which is July 13)
New York’s Green Amendment is just 2 ½ years old and is already setting powerful precedent. But government officials are trying to minimize the obligations it creates on them. In response, New Yorkers are signing a letter that we will personally deliver to the offices of the Attorney General, the Governor, and the NY Department of Environmental Conservation on July 12th.
If you’re from New York, please:

- Consider joining us to rally & deliver the letter on July 12th in Albany. Learn more here.

#2, Online from anywhere
From July 7 to July 13 help us lift up the Green Amendment Movement & inspire the attention of some key leaders in the media.Every time you act (up to twice a day) your name will be entered into the free prize drawing. Here’s what you can do:
- Each day, send us up to 13 words that express what a Green Amendment means to you and/or what is inspiring you to support the Green Amendment movement. Your words – which will be posted on our Green Amendment Day website and may be used in other Green Amendment educational and outreach materials – will help inspire others to join the Green Amendment movement!
- Each day, share our Green Amendment Day message on social media. Deliver a message on X/Twitter in just a few clicks, from this link.
Not on X/Twitter? But still want to join the fun? Go to our Green Amendment day web page, copy and paste messages scripted for Facebook and LinkedIn and then, fill out the Google Form so we know you took action and can include your name in our free prize drawing.

News From Across the Movement
Michigan
Michigan activists and leaders joined for a special film screening to learn about the founding and spread of the Green Amendment movement, and then talked strategy for how to advance the proposed Michigan Green Amendment.
California
California’s amendment passed through its second committee and was headed for a vote of the full State Assembly. Unfortunately, in the 11th hour the amendment got derailed by language negotiations. But that’s okay, we have built a powerful foundation, and set the stage for even stronger language, for the next go around.
New Jersey
Members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Cherry Hill took action to demonstrate the tremendous and growing support for a New Jersey Green Amendment. Their Earth Day campaign generated 1,890 postcards in support of that state’s amendment.
New Mexico
Maya joined with organization leaders, legislators and activists to unveil the new New Mexico Green Amendment proposal and launch the new campaign. There is great energy and belief that 2025 could be the year for the Land of Enchantment.
